Tony's Tyres has been keeping Kiwi drivers safely on the road since 1982, and our Whangarei store is a busy, well-equipped workshop at the heart of our national network. We're on the lookout for a qualified, experienced Mechanic who takes pride in their craft and wants to work somewhere that genuinely values the people on the tools. The Opportunity This is a full-time permanent role where you'll be a key part of the workshop team, delivering high-quality mechanical servicing and repairs across a wide variety of customer vehicles. You'll work in a well-organised, safety-first environment where your expertise is respected and your development is supported. This is a 40-hour per week role, Monday to Friday. Your day-to-day will include: - Performing general and specialised mechanical repairs and servicing across a range of vehicles
- Accurately diagnosing faults using modern testing equipment
- Conducting inspections and ensuring all work meets rigorous safety and compliance standards
- Communicating repair work and recommendations to customers in a clear, professional manner
What We're Looking For You'll bring solid hands-on experience, a sharp eye for detail, and a customer-first attitude. To be considered, you'll need: - A Level 4 Certificate in Light Automotive (or equivalent), or a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience within the NZ market
- A full New Zealand Driver's Licence
- A current WOF Inspector's Certificate, or the willingness and eligibility to obtain one
- Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to customer service
- Solid computer literacy and technical proficiency
